Tollywood director Ramesh Varma confirmed that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The filmmaker shared the news on Monday night via his official Twitter handle, saying that he has quarantined himself. He also urged everyone to wear masks and avoid going outside unnecessarily.
He took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “Hello everyone, I have tested positive for #Covid19 and quarantined myself as a part of a safeguard measure. Please wear the mask and try not to go out unnecessarily! Stay safe guys, love you all(Sic).”
Recently, Pawan Kalyan, Nivetha Thomas, Gouri Kishan, Katrina Kaif and Rakul Preet Singh were among those who had tested positive for COVID-19. Earlier, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and some others were infected with the virus.

On Tuesday, India’s total tally of coronavirus cases climbed to 1,53,21,089 with 2,59,170 new COVID-19 cases being reported in a day. The active cases count surpassed the 20-lakh mark, according to the data provided by Union Health Ministry.
Ramesh Varma started his career in the direction field with the movie Oka Oorilo starring Tarun. Later he came up with Ride, Veera, Abbayitho Ammayi, and his previous offering was Bellamkonda Srinivas-starrer suspense thriller Rakshasudu, the Telugu remake of Tamil hit Ratsasan. He has also produced two films Jaffa and Seven.
On the work front, filmmaker Ramesh Varma is currently working with Ravi Teja in Khiladi. Ravi Teja will be seen playing a dual role in the film while Arjun Sarja will be the antagonist. The film also casts Meenakshi Chaudhary, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Dimple Hayathi, Thakoor Anoop Singh, Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore. Bankrolled by Satyanarayana Koneru and Ramesh Varma under A Studios LLP banner.
Devi Sri Prasad is the music director and Sujit Vaasudev handled the camera along with GK Vishnu. Amar Reddy is the editor of the film while the dialogues were written by Srikanth Vissa along with DSP’s brother Sagar. The action sequences in the film were shot in Italy.
Recently, On the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, the makers unveiled the official teaser of Khiladi and it received a good response from the audience, especially on social media. The teaser of the film already has over 4.6 million views on Youtube. Meanwhile, Khiladi is scheduled to be released on 28 May 2021.
